Segera Ranch


Segera sits on 20,000ha of land in Laikipia district n the north frontier of Kenya. Lying some 20 kilometers north of the equator, it forms one of the Kenya's richest ecosystem in terms of wildlife diversity and animal population densities. The Laikipia plateau extends some two million acres of virgin wilderness stretching from the foot of mount Kenya in the east to the Great Rift Valley to the west. Segera offers guests a unique retreat into the wilderness. Segera is one of the leading conservancies in this region contributing both to conservation and uplifting livelihoods of the local communities through sustainable commercial ventures, supporting education and cultural activities. Each safari on Segera is customized to meet individual guest needs. A day can consist of game viewing on camels rides or on foot accompanied with a seasoned ranger.. Bike rides along the contours of the acacia bush lands and visits to the northern parts of the ranch. Guests can also visit the neighboring chimpanzee sanctuary or neighboring conservancies. In the second half of 2010, Segera will be open to accept reservations.
