On your Masai
Masai safari our bush hideaway in Kenya welcomes you to a
different world, a world centred at the heart of the African
wilderness that is Kenya`s Masai Masai. A world of
majestic animals, dazzling birds, sweeping grass lands,
flat-topped trees and breathtaking sunsets. To experience a traditional luxury camp is a must on a
Masai Masai safari. Unfenced and secluded in a thicket of Euclea and African Olives, the camp impinges so little on
the natural inhabitants of this prolific reserve that your
Masai Masai safari is enhanced by the animals that wander
through the grounds at any time unperturbed. Staying in a bush camp doesn’t mean compromising on comfort,
the food and service are first class, as are the warmth and
experience of Kicheche’s staff making your Masai Masai
safari an unforgettable experience.
Kicheche is located on the Aitong Plains in the northern
Koiyaki Lemek region of the famous Masai Masai Reserve. The
camp is hidden in a grove of wild olive and croton trees in
a prime wildlife area. Game viewing starts right from the
camp itself. The camp is closed from 01st April to 31st May.

Masai Porini Camp
has recently been set up in the exclusive wildlife
conservancy of Ol Kinyei, one of the most beautiful
wilderness areas in the Serengeti-Masai eco-system.
This is
pristine wilderness with open savannah plains, riverine
forest, springs, streams and rivers, rolling hills and
spectacular views across the Masai Masai. Ol Kinyei belongs
to a Masai community who has recently set aside the
conservancy as a sanctuary for wildlife. The conservancy
holds a wide variety of the animal species for which the
Masai is famous including a large resident pride of lions. The Porini camp has 6 guest tents sited in the shade of
Yellow-barked Acacia trees along the banks of the Laetoli, a
permanent spring within Ol Kinyei. The tents are spacious
and each has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and
safari shower. The camp accommodates a maximum of 12 guests,
giving the experience of real camping in the bush in an
exclusive private wilderness but with all the comforts
required by discerning travellers. Food is excellent with
home baked bread, fresh salads and high quality meals
prepared by the camp Chef. Within the Ol Kinyei conservancy guests enjoy morning,
evening and night game drives, sundowners at scenic viewing
points and escorted walks with Masai guides. The camp is
located less than 18 kms from the Masai Masai park boundary. Ol Kinyei Conservancy is 250 kms from Nairobi by road - a 4
hour journey. It has its own airstrip for private charter
flights and is 16 kms from the Siana airstrip used by the
daily scheduled flights to Masai Masai from Nairobi. The is not suitable for children under 8 years old.

Karen Blixen
Camp in the Masai Masai offers an authentic ’yesteryear’
experience for visitors wishing to gain that little extra
from their safari. Set on the bank of the Masai River the

spectacular, with the great Masai plains behind the camp and

today. The camp spacious tents set on large mahogany platforms –
each with a veranda from which one can enjoy an afternoon
siesta taking in the wonderful surroundings. The tents are

Sekenani Camp
is situated in the Masai Masai Game Reserve, the very heart
of the big game country in southern Kenya. Comprised of
fifteen exceptionally well-designed tents, it is one of the
smallest permanent tented camps in the Masai Masai. It is
known for its magnificent setting, excellent cuisine and
what are probably the most comfortable tents in Africa. The camp is operated in conjunction with twenty six Masai
families who have a share in the business. It is the
logistical center for a community development project
developing infrastructure for health-care, veterinary
services, education and clean water for people living around
the reserve. Simple elegance is the Sekenani style. The camp is built at
the source of the Sekenani River which rises from a rock
pool at the east end of the camp and forms the stream which
flows in front of each tent. The tents themselves are large
and raised off the ground on platforms. Each one is secluded
and set into the bush in such a way as to ensure privacy.
The en suite bathroom, replete with a full-length bath, make
these among the most beautifully appointed tents in Africa. A suspension bridge connects the guest tents with the dining
room and bar area. Here, it is the turn of our talented
chefs to entertain you with a variety of freshly prepared
dishes and a well stocked bar. In the evening a log fire is set on the wide veranda in
front of the dining room. Here guests enjoy a `sundowner`
before dinner and listen to the sounds of Africa`s birds and
other creatures.
