Made up of 17 opulent en-suite tents encircling a big watering hole teeming with both birds and wild animals, Little Governors’ is inviting in spirit. The camp is accessed via a boat trip across the Mara River followed by an escorted trek through the riverine forest. Vehicles are left on the other side of the river bank, and the camp therefore offers a quiet and undisturbed atmosphere.

There are no perimeter fences in all Governors’ properties and at Little Governors’ there is a resident unit of warthogs which grace the camp grounds and wander freely. The policy that animals have a right of way applies here. Guests need to make way for elephants which at times visit the camp at lunch time.

 

Here breakfast and lunch are served in the open and the resident warthog family often wanders in the midst of the tables. In the evenings a log fire lights the front of the Bar Tent, and dinner is served in the nearby dining Tent.

 

 

 

 

Accommodation

Renovation has recently been carried out on the entire guest tents at Little Governors’ and they now offer large timber decks with large verandahs for guests to enjoy the vista and constant game activity occurring around the watering hole at the camp.

The camps ideal location and professional guides with great safari vehicles offers endless options of things to do. The camp offers some of the best game viewing in the Masai Mara because it is located inside the game Reserve, and you won’t waste time getting to the action.

Rates include:

Full board accommodation, 3 meals per person per night booked, bottled water and welcome drink, laundry, together with applicable VAT thereon, and transportation of tourists. Transportation of tourists will be in custom built 4WD vehicles. Also rates includes all air strip transfers and three excursions daily into the famous Masai Mara National Reserve and surrounding areas, to local Masai Villages (Manyattas), and to / from the local schools and other community and conservation projects we support and which guests may wish to visit.

Rates exclude: Drinks, personal expenses, Manyatta entrance fees and Park Fees. The supplement for the Justus Suite at Governors’ Camp is US$60 per night for the Suite.
