Kenya and Tanzania Safari
This safari takes you across Kenya's
and Tanzania's topmost game reserves. It offers a guest the opportunity to
discover East Africa's unique wildlife and cultural inheritance. The 13 day
safari will take you to Amboseli, Aberdares, Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru
National Parks in Kenya and Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Lake Manyara National
Parks in Tanzania . Between Kenya and Tanzania are located the most varied
and flourishing wildlife in the entire continent of Africa. This safari will
present you with breathtaking sceneries and diverse ecosystems which are an
additional worth stating.
On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta
International Airport you will be met by a representative from Edge East
Africa Safaris and transferred to the Boulevard Hotel. Overnight at
Panafric
hotel based on Bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2 ; Nairobi – Masai Mara
After breakfast 0730 hrs drive through
the floor of the Rift Valley via the Masai town of Narok to arrive at
Kenya’s most populous park, the Masai Mara Game Reserve in time for lunch at
Mara Sarova game camp .
Masai Mara voted one of the natural spectacles n
the world has well over 450 species of animals. Although through July to
August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with
migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife all year
round. The famous Masai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game
reserve. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.
Take morning and afternoon game drives
in the Masai Mara game reserve with a visit to a local Masai village. Lunch,
Dinner and overnight at
Mara Sopa Lodge.
Day 4: Mara – Lake Nakuru
National Park
At 0830 hrs after breakfast depart
doing a game drive en-route to Nakuru. Arrive in Lake Nakuru National park
in time for lunch at Lion Hill lodge.
At 1500 hrs take an afternoon game
drive. This is a chance to visit the unique sanctuary home to a sizeable
number of the endangered rhinoceros species and the Rothschild giraffe.
Waterbucks as well as predators such as the lion and leopard are common view
within the park. Nakuru National park also boasts a myriad of different
varieties of birdlife in and around the lake. Flamingo's are also in
plentiful at the lake. Later drive to
Lake Naivasha Sopa for dinner
and overnight.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha –
Aberdares
After breakfast at Lake Navasha sopa
lodge, leave for Treetops Lodge, one of the 4 Kenya’s Tree Hotels with a
rich history of who is who in its visitors list. Arrive in time for lunch is
at Outspan hotel in Nyeri. Later transfer to Treetops lodge for game
viewing. Spend the afternoon watching game at the watering hole by the hotel
from the comfort of your room, or bar or Restaurant. Before you reach the
lodge it is advisable to have a stop to admire the 73m plunge of the
Thompson Falls named after the Scottish explorer who fast saw them them in
the late 1800s. Dinner and overnight at
Treetops lodge.
Day 6: Aberdare's - Nairobi –
Amboseli National Park
At 0800 hrs, you will be picked after
breakfast and drive to Nairobi for lunch at the carnivore Restaurant. After
lunch you then proceed south to Amboseli National Park at the foot of Mount
Kilimanjaro (Africa's highest mountain) and check in at the Amboseli Sopa
Lodge.. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Day 7: Amboseli National Park
At 0630 hrs take an early morning game
drive then get back for breakfast at the lodge. Morning at leisure. Lunch at
the Lodge. 1500 hrs Afternoon game drive. The snows of the mountain forms a
majestic backdrop to one of Kenya's most popular spectacular displays of
wildlife - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and host of
plains game, creating Kenya's most sought after photographer's paradise.
After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive in the Park. Dinner and
overnight at
Amboseli Sopa Lodge.
Day 8: Amboseli - Arusha - Lake
Manyara National Park
After breakfast at Amboseli Serena
lodge/Sentrim Amboseli, at 0800 Hrs drive through the Namanga border post
into Tanzania and drive to Arusha town to arrive in time for lunch.
At
1400 hrs, after lunch proceed to Lake Manyara National Park and check in at
at Kirurumu Tented lodge. Birdlife in the park is very broad. The home of
tree-climbing lion, the park is also home to giraffes, hippo, zebra, and
buffalo. Dinner and overnight at
Kirurumu Tented lodge.
Day 9 Lake Manayara - Serengeti
National Reserve
After breakfast, take a game drive in
the Lake Manayara National Park and later drive to Serengeti National
reserve.
Arrive at 1300 hrs in time for Lunch at the Serengeti Sopa
Lodge. At 1500 hrs depart for an afternoon game drive n Serengeti. Dinner
and overnight at
Seronera Wildlife Lodge.
Day 10 : Serengeti National
Reserve
At 0630 hrs take an early morning game
drive. Breakfast at the lodge Morning at your leisure.
1230 hrs Lunch at
the Seronera Wildlife Lodge.
At 1500 hrs take an afternoon game drive.
Serengeti is Africa's largest national park and also one of its most
popular. The park has an large number of animals, wildebeests being the most
populous followed by the zebra. Elephants are notably scarce. Cheetahs and
the rest of the big cats are regularly sighted in the plains. The few
remaining endangered black rhino are restricted to the Moru Koppies area.
The park is also famous for the wildebeests migration, often described as
one of the most impressive spectacle in the natural world. Dinner and
overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge.
Day 11: Serengeti - Ngorongoro
Conservation Area
After breakfast take a game drive en-route to the
Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lunch at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. Spend the
afternoon at your lesuire. Dinner and overnight at
Bougaivillea Safari
Lodge.
Day 12: Ngorongoro Conservation
Area
After early breakfast descend into the
crater floor for a day's game drive with picnic lunches. Ngorongoro Crater,
is one the largest intact caldera in the world and one of the most
spectacular sights in the whole of Africa. The Olduvai Gorge in the
neighbourhood is the site where some off Africa's oldest hominid fossils
were found. The Crater has one of the largest predator populations in
Africa. Elephant, lion, zebra, wildebeest and a host of other resident
animals are to be found here. Leave in late afternoon fro dinner and
overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.
Day 13: Ngorongoro - Arusha
–Nairobi
After breakfast depart at 0830 hrs for
a drive back to arrive in Arusha in time for lunch. After lunch continue to
Nairobi on board a regular shuttle bus and drop off at Panafric hotel. Edge
East Africa safaris representative will pick you up from Panafric hotel and
drive to Carnivore Restaurant for dinner. This restaurant is famous for its
succulent steaks as welcome or farewell dinner. Later you will be
transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your flight home.
