0730 hrs: Depart Nairobi and drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve through the floor of The Great Rift Valley.

Along the way stop briefly at the Rift Valley View point to take in a breath taking view of the floor of the Great Rift Valley with a distant view of Mt. Longonot, Mt. Margaret and the pyrethrum plantations.

1530 hrs - go for an afternoon game drive till dusk. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Mara Camp.

Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve

At the break of dawn, you can take an optional balloon safari over the plains of Masai Mara to enjoy the vista. On landing you will be treated to a heart-full champagne breakfast in the bush before taking a game drive back to your lodge.

Also on this day, take a cultural visit to a local village to learn about the contemporary Masai Culture.

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

Later in the afternoon take a game drive before returning to camp for dinner and overnight at Ashnil Mara Camp.

The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the endangered Black rhino and buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering over 400 species.

Flamingo Hill is a small and exclusive Tented. The tents are furnished with the understated luxury required by the modern traveler. Decorated in calming safari tones, natural woods, wrought iron and crisp cottons each tent has been meticulously planned to maximize comfort.

The camp is used as a base, a spring board for an early morning game drive, a break for a sumptuous lunch, a respite from the heat of the day and the finale to a days adventure where stories can be swapped around a fire. As a small and intimate camp the staff is on hand just to look after a very limited number of guests and so the level of attention and service is always excellent.
