Safari will initiate you to the exhilarating pleasures of some
of the world’s most outstanding natural wildlife spectacles,
adorned in luxury, but in harmony with the simple rhythms of
life.
The setting for the camp is delightful. So
thrilling that almost a hundred years ago it was reserved,
entirely, for Kenya’s rulers – the colonial Governors.
Governors’ Camp is tucked in a forested cover along the
meandering shores of the Mara River, whose waters are swarming
with abundant bird-life, hippos and crocodiles.
Some of the 37 tents line the river bank giving endless views of
the Mara River while other tents have commanding views of the
sweeping plains. Built in 1972, Governors’ Camp set high
standards in luxury tented camps. Today, the camp stands as one
of the best in Africa’s wilderness.
Virtually everything is under canvas with all tents fitted with
en-suit bathrooms with hot and cold running water and flushing
toilets.
