Sasaab Lodge is located in Northern Kenya – in the heart of the Northern Frontier District. Sasaab is built on Ngutuk-Ongiron Group Ranch which is west of Samburu Game Reserve.

By air, the camp can be accessed through an hours flight from Nairobi into Buffalo Springs (scheduled twice daily) & followed by a 1 hour drive through Samburu Game Reserve to Sasaab taking a game drive on the way. It can also be accessed  by air directly into Sasaab’s airstrip by private charter.

By road another alternative would be a seven hours drive from Nairobi, across the Equator and past Mount Kenya, into the Northern Frontier District.

 

Accommodation

Comprises of nine Moroccan tents, comprising of a bedroom, sitting room and fully serviced bathrooms. 5 tents have double beds, 4 tents have twin beds. Electricity is solar powered, offering outlets for charging equipment in each tent. Two of the tents are situated close together to form a family tent and share a verandah and a plunge pool. All the other tents have their own private plunge pool.

 

Recreation:      

Situated above the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, in the arid heart of Samburu land, Sasaab’s tranquil setting offers views towards the Laikipia plateau and Mount Kenya. The main area sits on a high rocky ridge allowing one to enjoy the spectacular views through the Moroccan interior and courtyard.

The swimming pool is perched on the hill side overlooking the river. Massage & beauty treatments are offered from the privacy of your tent.

Sasaab accommodates up to 18 guests in nine individually located rooms with magnificent views of the river and the true African wilderness, each over 100 square meters and with their own plunge pool and privacy. The uniquely designed tents are ideal for game viewing and bird-watching as well as relaxing.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations that are canceled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in numbers are subject to cancellation and no show fees.

- The camp is closed in November

Park/Reserve gate opens at 0600am and closes at 0600pm

 

CHECK IN TIME / CHECK OUT TIME

Check in time at hotels is 1100hrs.

Early check in will be charged at extra night.

Late arrivals should be advised in advance to avoid auto cancellation of the reservation.

In case check in is delayed than the expected arrival date, the delay will be treated as no show.

Check out time is at 1000hrs.

Day room use can be arranged at extra fee and is applicable from 1000hrs to 1800hrs.

Room use after 1800hrs will be charged at full night rate.
