The Treetops is the original tree lodge, and is world
famous for its location facing a water hole and a salt
lick in the Aberdares National Park as well as its
historical royal connection. In 1932, its first visitors
gingerly climbed the wild fig tree supporting the
two-room tree house. Treetops welcomed a young English
girl, its most famous visitor. This young English girl
climbed the tree as a princess one afternoon, to descend
the following morning as Queen Elizabeth I I, her
father, King George VI, had died during the night.
Mount Kenya's breath taking view is visible on clear
mornings.
Treetops have open balconies for viewing and
photography; two photographic hides at ground level at
either end of the lodge allow really close shots of
unsuspecting animals.
There is an optional buzzer in every room that alerts
the guests if something special were to show up at
night.

The Masai Mara was recently recognized as the eighth
wonder of the world due to the stampede caused by over
one million wildebeests, Zebras and other animals
crossing the crocodile infested Mara River from
Serengeti National park in Tanzania, with predators in
hot pursuit. This phenomenon causes a great spectacle
and has attracted thousands of wildlife lovers to
witness this natural wonder. Masai Mara Game reserve is
located on the south west of Kenya bordering Tanzania to
the north. A safari to Mara is the pinnacle of every
adventure traveler.
Masai Mara is probably one of the best wildlife parks to
visit throughout the year with plenty of wildlife.
However between July and October visitors are treated to
a spectacular which makes this Game Reserve Great - the
annual migration drama when over 1.5 million wildebeest,
zebras and other animals cross from the Serengeti (In
Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Hot on their
heels are the predators of the savannah -lion, cheetah,
wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures.
Meals and overnight at Keekorock Lodge.
Take early morning game drive before breakfast. After
breakfast depart for Nairobi arriving by 1500 hours.
