Depart from Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire
National Park with lunch boxes to start your game drives
as soon as you reach the park.
Tarangire National Park, gazetted in 1970, is 118km away
from Arusha town, which covers an area off 2600sq km
that's about 1600 miles and derivers its name from the
Tarangire River that flows through the center of the
park. The river flows from south to north/northwest and
empties its water in Lake Burungi. An exceptional
collection of "Acacia tortilis" and baobab trees has
become synonymous with the name Tarangire National Park.
Dinner and overnight at Tarangire campsite.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara Park for full day
game drives with picnic lunch.
The Lake Manyara National park is serene and beautiful
with main attractions of a rich bird life, tree-climbing
lions, its elephants, and hippos that you can see at
closer range than most other places. Lake Manyara is an
alkaline lake and at certain times of the year hosts
thousands of flamingos and a diversity of other bird
life. Although it is one of the smallest parks, its
vegetation is so diverse enabling it to host a variety
of wildlife habitats.
Dinner
and overnight at Twiga Campsite.
Depart Lake Manyara after breakfast for Serengeti
National Park with a game drive en route. After a picnic
lunch, proceed with an afternoon game drive. Dinner and
overnight at Seronera or Lobo Campsite.
Full day of game viewing in Serengeti with picnic lunch
in the park.
February is the best month to see masses of migratory
wildebeest herds in the short grass area of southern
Serengeti Plains. It is also the breeding season for the
wildebeest and the hartebeest and it is always a thrill
to watch a baby wildebeest stumble to its feet minutes
after being born.
Dinner and overnight at camp.
Following your morning game drive, depart for Ngorongoro
Crater with a game drive en route and an optional stop
at Olduvai Gorge Museum.
The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole
volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most
stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the
wonders of the world, not only because of its geological
magnificence, but also because it serves as an
extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s
largest populations of large mammals. Ngorongoro and
other freestanding mountains are volcanic in origin,
formed during the fracturing process that created the
Rift valley 15 to 20 million years ago.
Dinner and overnight will be at Simba Campsite.
After an early breakfast descend into the crater floor
for a half day crater tour. Ascend the crater for lunch
and later break camp and depart for Arusha arriving in
the evening.
