Tour Summary: This is a Classic historic Route by road and air and includes includes Ethiopian ancient and historical towns like Bahirdar, Gondar,  Lalibela, Axum, Addis Ababais Ababa and the surrounding attractions.

 

Day 1:  Arrival in Addis Ababais Ababa

Flight from your China, arrive in Bole International Airport, meet our company representative and transfer to hotel.

 

Day 2: Fly Addis Ababa/Bahirdar

Early morning flight  to Bahirdar.  After flaying an hour you will arrive at Bahirdar Airport and transfer to camping area, boat excursion over Lake Tana to the Zeghie peninsula to visit the two beautifully painted churches that are found hidden in the small forest: Azoa Mariam and Ura Kidane Miheret, on the way you will have the chance to over view Kibran Gebriel and Entos Monastery and the outlet of the Blue Nile river  P.m drive 70KM round trip to visit Tississat named after the water falls of the Blue Nile River (the life blood for the Sudanese and Egyptians). Be informed that clients will walk about an hour to arrive near to the water falls on Blue Nile. So they are expected to wear appropriate clothes that match with hot weather and good shoes.

 

Day 3:  Drive Bahirdar/Gondar

Morning drive to Gondar and transfer to hotel. Afternoon  you will be taken to visit the castle compound where you can see the medieval castle of king Fasilidas, King Yohannes, King Eyasu, King Dawit, King Bakafa and Queen Mentewab further visit of the churches of Debre Birhan Selassie with awesome wall paintings and the bath of King Fasilidas overnight Quara Hotel.

 

Day 4: Fly Gondar/Lalibela

Morning flight to Lalibela,  the world heritage city.   After 45 minutes flight, you will arrive at Shimshaha ( Lalibela Airport),transfer to hotel and start to visit the 1^st group churches which are included Bieta Medhanialem (Chapel of Holy Savior) which is the biggest and Bieta Mariam (Chapel of Mary): three aisled with mural paintings and a covered pillar containing inscriptions about the end of the world according to the gadl (act )of  saintly king.  Further visit of Bieta Denagel (Chapel of the Virgins), Bieta Meskel (Chapel of the cross) and finally, the “double – church” of Debre Sina and Bieta Golghotha (women are not allowed in the latter since it’s where the remains of King Lalibela are and also because it contains the tabernacle of the Holy Trinity). PM Visit of the second group of rock-hewn churches that are namely: Bieta Gabriel and Raphael, Bieta Merquorios, Bieta Emmanuel with unprecedented Axumite style and the Bieta Abaa Libanos (said to have been built by King Lalibela’s consort Meskal Kebra and visit the Bieta Ghiorghis which is the cruciform chapel of St. George. Overnight Lal hotel.

 

Day 5:  Fly Lalibela/Axum 

Morning flight  to Axum.  After 40 minutes flight, you will arrive at Axum Airport, transfer to hotel and start to visit the historical sites of Axum including the St. Mary church (where the Arc of the covenant is said to be kept) and the stele park. Afternoon visit the ruins of the former palace of Queen of Sheba (Dungur Palace) the ruins of the former tombs of King Kaleb and his successor King Gebre Meskel.  Overnight Consular hotel. 

 

Day 6: Fly Axum/Addis Ababa

After having your breakfast you fly back to Addis Ababais Ababa, half day city tour in Addis Ababais including a drive to Mount Entoto for panoramic view, national museum, Merkato, the biggest open market in Africa,   attend farewell dinner in the famous Ethiopian traditional restaurant with live music and delicious meal which is free of charge that will be covered by our company, transfer to Bole International airport for flight and it will be the end of the tour.

  

The total price will be US$ 1,584/person on a twin bed bases.  Minimum 2 pax

 Rate includes;

-          5 nights room accommodation on a twin/family bed basis.

-          Meal on full board based (breakfast, Lunch and dinner) with soft and hot drink.

-           All Domestic Flight ticket ( Addis Ababa-Bahirdar//Gondar-Lalibela-Axum-Addis Ababa)

-          All ground transport and airport transfers as per the itinerary  

-          All entrance fee at  Addis Ababais Ababa Bahirdar, Gondar, Lalibela and Axum

-          Half day boat excursion on Lake Tana

-          Professional English speaking local guides in all destinations.

-          Individual service apart from the group.

-          Other expense of personal nature like telephone calls, laundry etc

        -         The baggage allowance on Ethiopian Airlines flights are 20 KG/ in total per person

 

Note:

•  There will be a price difference for the following dates of 5th, 6th, 7th, 19th and  20th  January as there is festival during these dates and  services are expensive.

• January is a pick season for Ethiopian tourism. So we need your earliest confirmation of the tour as we have to book hotels, flight ticket and other services in advance.
