Tour Highlight: This tour takes you on a journey to the Afar/ Dallol Depression, Ert ‘ale and Mekelle brimming with its immense natural and cultural attractions of Ethiopia. the tour combines both flight and road transport.

       Itinerary

 

      Day 1: Addis Ababa - Afar

Morning flight to Mekele, our company representative will pick you from Mekele Airport and drive to Ahmed Ella. Take entrance permit and police from Berhaile, the gate of Afar region and overnight in local hotel.

 

      Day 2: Ert Ale

Proceed to Ert Ale via Kursewad , take police again and drive to Waydoom. After having dinner we will trek about 3 ½ hours to arrive in the calderas of the volcanic mountain of Ert’Ale, active volcano.  Spend two/ three hours visiting the volcano, take some rest Overnight  camping.

 

      Day 3: Ert ale

Early morning descend Ert ale, have your breakfast at Waydodom where the base of the area and drive to Ahmed Ella Overnight local hotel.

 

      Day 4: Dallol Depression

Early morning visit Dallol Depression, the bubbling sulfuric acid, Lake Asale which is full of salt, the salt extracting area, camel caravan, and afternoon drive to Mekele.

 

      Day 5:  Return to Addis Ababa

Morning flight to Addis Ababa, city tour in Addis including Mount Entoto, national Museum, the resting place of our famous LUCY, Merkato, the biggest open market in Africa, monuments and souvenir shopping.

  

       The total price will be USD 3070 per person on twin sharing bases.  Minimum 2 pax

• All Hotel accommodation and camping (Camping includes mattress, sleeping bag, tent and all camping gears).

• All ground transport 4WD land cruiser cobra 2002 Model including fuel with AC and additional 1997/98 model car for scout, cook and police.

• Two Experienced drivers.

• Meal on Full board bases in Danakil depression ( B,L,D) .

Note:

• The price is calculated two person bases. The price will either increase or reduce depending on the number of persons.

• The trip to Dallol, Ertale is recommended from Mid October- February.

• Cars, cook, guide will be sent from Addis Ababa and it will take two days to arrive in Mekele and another two days to be back. So the cost is also calculated based on this.

• We give maximum satisfaction for our clients.

 

Information:   The current airfare for the scoter Addis- Mekele- Addis  is USD 220 per person.  Please note that all fares are subject to change without prior notice from the Ethiopian airlines and seat availability when the reservation is made.  Fares and seats are only guaranteed once the tickets have been issued. The airline reserves the right to cancel fares and seats if the tickets are not issued. Full first name and surnames as per the passenger’s passports is required to make reservation.  The baggage allowance on Ethiopian Airlines flights are 20kg in total per person.
