sink and a safari shower. A team of safari chefs prepare

water’s edge under the shade of an African Pepper tree
or by candlelight in the open mess tent higher up the
bank.

Day 11: Ngorongoro Crater |
0630hrs: Early morning, descend into the crater for a
full day game drive with picnic lunch.
-
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest intact
caldera in an exceptional geographical position,
forming a spectacular bowl of about 265 sq km with
sides up to 600m deep. It is the stalking ground of
20 - 30,000 wild animals at any one time.
-
The crater floor consists of a number of ecological
environments that include grassland, swamps, forests
and Lake Magadi, a central soda lake filled by the
Munge River. All these various habitats attract
various wildlife to drink and graze.
-
Although animals are free to move in and out of this
contained environment, the rich volcanic soil, lush
forests and spring source lakes on the crater floor
tend to incline both grazers and predators to remain
throughout the year.
-
Ngorongoro Crater is also presently one of the most
likely areas in Tanzania to see the endangered Black
Rhino, as a small population is thriving in this
idyllic and protected environment one of the only
areas where they continue to breed in the wild.
-
The Crater rim, over 2,200 meters high, touches
swathes of clouds for most days of the year, with
cool high altitude vapors that seem to bring a clean
lightness to the air, and also a chill. These
highlands wake up to a misty fog in most months.
Later in the evening, ascend back to the crater rim for
dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
|
Day 12: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara National Park |
0800hrs: Depart in the morning for Lake Manyara National
Park arriving and taking game drives in the park before

Later in the afternoon, take a game drive in the park

overnight at lake Manyara Serena Lodge.
|
Day 13: Lake Manyara – Arusha |

(2 ˝ hrs) to Arusha. On arrival, you will be transferred
to Namanga boarder with a brief stopover in Arusha for
