Tour Highlight: This 10 days road tour takes you to the far southern part of the Omo valley in Ethiopia which is rich in cultural attractions.

 

Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa

On arrival at Bole International airport, you will be met by our company representative and transferred to your hotel for overnight stay. HB

 

Day 2,  Addis - Arbaminch

Depart in the morning and drive in a 4x4 Land cruiser south west of Addis Ababa via Hossana ,over viewing the Oromo and the Gurage tribes way of life with their thatched roof circular house surrounded by enset “ false banana” trees. Overlooking Lake Abaya and Lake chamo , one of the fertile and evergreen place in the Ethiopia. Overnight at hotel. HB

 

Day 3:  Arbaminch – Jinka

Take a morning boat ride on Lake Chamo to see crocodiles, hippopotamus and some aquatic birds  and Proceed to Jinka, admiring the Derashe, Tsemay, Ari and Benna people on the way. If  this day falls on a Thursday, you can visit the very colorful market for the Tsemay and Erbore people at Key Afer.  Overnight at hotel. HB

 

Day 4: Jinka –Mursi/Mago -Turmi

Enter Mago National Park to visit the Mursi people and their villages. Here for beauty women insert round clay plates in their lips. The men practice scarification based on the number of enemies or wild animals they have killed in battle. View wildlife and birds inside the park and admire the marvelous landscape.  Further drive to Turmi, and if today is Saturday you can see the colorful Hamer, Karo and Dassanech people at the market in Dimeka. Proceed to the Hamer villages for overnight at a hotel.

 

Day 5: Turmi – Murulle - Turmi

Drive to Murulle to visit the Karo people, with their interesting body decorations and scarification; admire the view of the Omo River from Kortcho village. Drive back to Turmi for overnight at a Lodge.

 

Day 6: Turmi –Yabello

Visit the Erbore villages and make a stop to admire the agricultural terracing practices of the Konso. Further visit of the Konso village, Gargesiyo, “ the southern New York”, a place which is the out come of  food for a long period of time and looks like the previous New York  sky sculpture buildings in USA. Overnight at a local hotel.

 

Day 7: Yabello - Langano

Drive to Langano via Yabello, visit the Sidama people way of life, enjoy the evergreen place of the country, one of the most known coffee plantation field. Further drive to the Birding. The place is one of the famous birding area in Ethiopia with many endemic aquatic birds. Proceed to lake langano, the Golden lake in the country which is free of Bilharzia, sanding, walk around the beach area overnight resort.

 

Day 8: Langano – Harar

Late Morning drive to Addis via the Rift Valley over viewing   the rift valley lakes of Shalla, Abyata and Langano, Zeway and Koka admiring wonderful views turn right in Modjo to Harar. At night you will visit the hyena man, a man who feeds hyenas by using his mouth. Later spend the overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 9: Harar

Full day visit the walled city of Harar, Museum, ancient mosques, and the decorated Harari house. Visit the Beautiful Harar market and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 10: Harar -Addis

Morning start to drive to Addis Ababa through the steering landscape, admire the Oromo, Afar, Isa tribes with their camel.  Arrive in Addis shopping some traditional goods, attend farewell dinner in the famous Ethiopian traditional restaurant with live music and delicious meal, transfer to Bole International airport for flight and it will be the end of the tour

 

The total price us US$ 2,750 per person sharing (Minimum 2 pax)  - All year round
